Mark your calendars for Friday, April 13, as the amazing women-run, Oakland grown, Home Base Spirits have organized a wonderful evening to benefit Upward Roots.
Come to enjoy a taste or two of whiskey and some special storytelling featuring Home Base Spirits, Wright & Brown Distilling, and Mosswood. Buy your tickets here!
Your ticket price includes one tasting pour of each whiskey (unless you opt for the storytelling only), with a side of storytelling from the makers themselves. Light snacks will be available.
Plan on the storytelling and tasting beginning at 5:30 pm. Stick around after to enjoy the delightful Drexl Bar, our hosts for the evening. Drexl will be featuring a Home Base bourbon cocktail and donating a portion of sales on this specialty drink to Upward Roots, too!
Please do not drink and drive! Drexl Bar is conveniently located 1 block from 19th Street BART and near bus routes, too. Use public transit, ride shares, or taxis to get to and from the event!

UR March Madness Changemaker Challenge

From March 11-April 2, 2018, we are challenging ourselves to add 10 new Changemaker Donors to the Upward Roots family.
Our changemakers are our greatest cheerleaders. They empower over 350 Oakland youth to design and lead dozens of community service solutions to challenges and inequities that matter to them each year! You can join Team UR as a Changemaker by making a monthly, recurring donation to support our programs in Oakland.
To celebrate your generosity, we're hosting an Elite 8 Watch Party at the Kingfish in Oakland on Saturday, March 24, game starts at 3:00 pm! We will have some fun and give away a few prizes...there may even be a complimentary beverage thanks to our Board. :)
